The KACMUN program, the longest-running in the Korean American community, engages high school students in civic engagement through United Nations meetings. The program develops skills in public speaking, negotiation, research, writing, critical analysis, and leadership, enhancing global understanding.
Kacmun program Start
The KACMUN program runs from September 2023 to May 2024 in a virtual environment. It consists of a once-weekly 2.5-hour online session and weekend MUN conferences that take place in person. Middle and high school students entering grades 8 through 11 are eligible for the program (12th grade students are only eligible if they are returning students). Applications from freshmen without MUN background are welcome.

In the United States, the Korean American community made up roughly 0.56% of the total population. California, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Texas, Washington, Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Colorado were the ten states with the highest estimated numbers of Korean Americans. With 1.8%, Hawaii has the largest percentage of Korean Americans.
